Muse Spark Powers a New Meta AI

Meta has rolled out a major upgrade to Meta AI across its apps, powered by Muse Spark — the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Originally announced in April 2026, Muse Spark is now the engine behind a significantly more capable Meta AI experience that spans voice, vision, shopping, and real-time interaction.

Natural Voice Conversations

The headline feature is natural voice conversations in the Meta AI app. Unlike earlier voice modes that felt robotic and sequential, Muse Spark enables you to talk the way you'd talk to a person — interrupt mid-sentence, switch topics, swap languages — and Meta AI keeps up. As you speak, the assistant can simultaneously generate images and pull up recommendations from Reels, maps, and more, making the conversation genuinely multimodal.

Live AI: Point Your Camera at the World

Meta AI now supports live camera mode — a feature already on AI glasses — that lets you point your phone at anything and ask about it in real time. Whether you're scanning a product, looking at a landmark, or troubleshooting something around the house, Meta AI can see what you're seeing and respond immediately. This positions Meta AI as a direct competitor to Google Lens and real-time vision features in other assistants.

Smarter Shopping With Marketplace + Internet

A new shopping mode lets users search Facebook Marketplace listings alongside the broader internet in one unified view, with a map showing where each item is located. Users can refine by price, style, or distance, and browse brands or creators directly using @ mentions. It's one of the most concrete examples yet of Meta's social graph becoming a commercial advantage for AI.

Rollout Across All Meta Surfaces

Muse Spark is now rolling out to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, Threads, and Meta's Ray-Ban and Oakley AI glasses in the US and Canada. The model is also available in private preview via API for select partners.
