Overview of Claude Code Review

Anthropic has officially announced the general availability of its automated Code Review feature for users on Claude Team and Enterprise plans. Following a period of research preview, the service is designed to integrate directly into software development workflows to identify potential bugs and issues in pull requests before they reach production. By automating parts of the code review process, Anthropic aims to alleviate the review bottleneck that often occurs in development teams.

Improvements and New Features

Based on user feedback during the research preview, the company has implemented several core improvements to the system. One of the most significant changes is the increase in processing speed. According to company data, most code reviews now finish approximately three times faster than they did during the research preview, reducing typical execution times from roughly 20 minutes down to 6-10 minutes.

Quality metrics have also been prioritized. The updated system provides more concise findings, focusing on identifying the core problem, the specific trigger for the bug, and the suggested resolution. This is intended to provide developers with actionable feedback that can be implemented quickly.

Furthermore, the service now offers administrative flexibility through three distinct review levels: Quick, Standard (which serves as the default), and Deep. These levels allow organizations to tailor the intensity of the AI-driven analysis to the requirements of specific repositories, ensuring that critical codebases receive more rigorous examination while routine tasks are handled efficiently.

Implementation for Teams

For organizations, implementation involves enabling the feature within the Claude Code settings and installing the GitHub App. Once an administrator selects the target repositories, the system is designed to run automatically on all new pull requests without requiring further intervention from individual developers. The integration is currently focused on repositories hosted on GitHub.

Promotional Credit Offer for Enterprise

To support adoption, Anthropic is offering eligible Claude Enterprise organizations promotional credits to offset the cost of using the service. Organizations can claim these credits between October 15, 2026, and January 15, 2027. The value of the credit ranges between $10,000 and $50,000, depending on the number of active Claude Code seats within the organization.

Once claimed, the credits remain valid for 30 days and are applied to the costs of code reviews before standard billing takes effect. It is important to note that these credits are non-transferable and do not carry over if they remain unused at the end of the 30-day period. Additionally, the offer is subject to specific eligibility criteria; for instance, it is not available to organizations billed through certain resellers or those utilizing self-hosted GitHub Enterprise instances with specific data residency configurations.

This rollout signifies a transition of Code Review from an experimental capability to a core feature of the Claude development platform. By formalizing the review process and providing scalable options for different team structures, Anthropic continues to refine its toolset for software engineering environments.
