Autonomous Engineering
Fractal is an open-source framework for building hierarchical, recursive agent loops that manage large-scale, multi-step autonomous work. By organizing agents into a tree of isolated git worktrees, each with its own budget, lifecycle, and memory, Fractal enables complex tasks like large-scale refactors or research campaigns to proceed reliably and independently.
Hierarchical recursive agent loops with branching capabilities
Isolated git worktrees and persistent memory for every agent node
Configurable safety boundaries (cost, time, iteration, and depth limits)
